Summary
This place has a pretty decent ambiance.
The yuzu margarita was surprisingly pretty good. If you haven’t had yuzu before and like citrus, I recommend you get this if it’s available. I just checked their website’s drink menu, and it’s not on there. This drink wasn’t strong at all, and had a really really good before and after taste. I would drink this over any regular margarita any day.
The okonomiyaki was very fluffy and also pretty good too. Highly recommend this as an appetizer if this is one of your options that you’re deciding on. The texture is almost like an egg souffle, but still retains that classic flavor with the pork and bonito flakes. It’s also not that messy at all and easy to serve.
Lastly, the spicy tan tan ramen was pretty good. It’s not the best, but as usual I like thicker noodles over thin. The broth is just a little on the saltier side, but with water and the margarita, it was good. As far as spice is concerned, this isn’t spicy at all, and I’m a medium spicy kind of eater.
Service was attentive and fast, and price was very decent for what we got.
Final Verdict
Good polished ramen spot if you’re close to Bryant Park.
Yelp Jabs
The ramen was too chewy and way too heavy
This baffling description makes me think the person is only used to Top Ramen.
The ramen was extremely salty and I was overwhelmed with the amount of salt at the end of my meal. The rice ball tasted bland and I didn’t see what was so special about it.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a rice ball that wasn’t bland. In fact, I don’t see what’s particularly special about any rice ball. So maybe I am missing something here.
