Mu Ramen
Summary
Where to start with this. I loathe cash only places considering the price of this is not exactly cheap.
The U & I bowl was really good but not for +$20. The bowl was rather small although the ingredients were pretty fresh.
The flying pig bowl was the biggest disappointment I’ve had. The broth was just OK. It’s subtly different than the normal tonkatsu style broth. I also opted for an ounce of the jamon iberico. I added an additional onsen tamago, which is basically a sous vide egg.
My total bill for this was over $60 for this.
It’s quite overrated for the price point, although the food was good. You can find better ramen at this price in the city or elsewhere.
Final Verdict
If you feel like splurging, you want to spend cash, money is no substance, and you’re stuck in Long Island City craving for expensive ramen, then this place is probably your only choice. Other than that, I’d do a hard pass.
Yelp Jabs
Definitely best ramen I’ve had in a very very long time. I was pleasantly surprised to eat at this gem in Long Island City.
I don’t think this Yelp Elite knows what good ramen is.
This place is always busy, so be sure to make a reservation in advance.
I came here on a Tuesday night at 7 PM, and there were no lines and space at the bar. Easy.
