Sommerfest
Summary
Located in the German pavilion at Epcot, this has a bunch of beer on draft and some German snacks. After looking at the original menu on Yelp, it looks like in the COVID temperament the menu is much smaller. When we went, there weren’t that many options, but there was no line. Just mainly a bratwurst with paprika chips or a pretzel. Right outside, there was a fountain with social distanced tables and chairs, and I needed something to pair with my Würzburger Hofbräu pilsner from the Weinkeller shop.
This was a giant pretzel, and it was truly giant. The pretzel unfortunately was a little dry, hard, and sometimes chewy. The salt crystals were sporadic, but could not make up for the outdated taste of it. The packets of (hot) mustard were barely enough to help get through. I definitely would skip getting this here unless it was guaranteed that it was warm and fresh like say… Aunt Annie’s.
Final Verdict
The pretzel was just OK for me, and I would totally pass on this in favor of other snacks.
Yelp Jabs
If you want an authentic German brat with beer, this is your place!
I think authenticity is very overrated. There are a ton of brat places all over the USA that are comparable.
